CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: August 28, 2026

North Forty Services, LLC (“North Forty Services,” “North Forty,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides residential and commercial junk removal, hauling, demolition, material delivery, and related services throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area and surrounding communities.

Because each project is different and may involve scheduling, labor, equipment, disposal fees, materials, transportation, permits, and other project-specific costs, cancellations and refunds are handled according to the following policy.

1. ESTIMATES AND QUOTES

Requesting an estimate or quote does not require a customer to purchase services and does not create a payment obligation unless otherwise specifically agreed. Estimates are based on the information available when the estimate is prepared. Final charges may change if the actual quantity, weight, volume, materials, site conditions, accessibility, disposal requirements, labor requirements, or scope of work differ from what was originally described. If a significant change in price becomes necessary, North Forty Services will make reasonable efforts to discuss the change with the customer before proceeding with additional work.

2. CANCELLATIONS

Customers should contact North Forty Services as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule a scheduled service.

Whenever reasonably possible, we ask that cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service time. North Forty Services understands that unexpected circumstances occur and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate scheduling changes. However, cancellation charges may apply when North Forty Services has already incurred expenses, committed labor or equipment, obtained permits, purchased or ordered materials, paid third-party charges, or otherwise incurred costs specifically for the customer's project.

3. DEPOSITS

Certain projects, particularly demolition, material delivery, larger hauling projects, or work requiring advance expenses, may require a deposit. Any required deposit and the conditions applicable to that deposit will be disclosed to the customer before payment. Unless otherwise stated in writing, a deposit may be applied toward costs already incurred by North Forty Services if the customer later cancels the project. Any remaining refundable portion of a deposit will be returned to the customer.

4. WORK ALREADY PERFORMED

Payments for services that have already been satisfactorily performed are generally nonrefundable. If a customer cancels a project after work has begun, the customer remains responsible for work already performed and for reasonable costs already incurred in connection with the project. These costs may include labor, equipment, transportation, disposal or landfill charges, permit fees, purchased materials, delivery charges, subcontractor expenses, and other project-specific costs.

5. JUNK REMOVAL AND HAULING

Once items or materials have been removed from the customer's property and transported for disposal, recycling, donation, transfer, or other handling, charges for those services are generally nonrefundable. Customers are responsible for identifying which property is to be removed. Before removal begins, customers should make certain that personal property, valuables, documents, equipment, or other items they wish to keep are clearly separated from items designated for removal. Once property has been removed and disposed of or transferred to a third party, North Forty Services may be unable to retrieve it.

6. DEMOLITION SERVICES

Demolition work is generally nonrefundable once the authorized demolition has been performed. If a demolition project is canceled before completion, the customer remains responsible for work already performed and costs already incurred. This may include labor, equipment, hauling, disposal charges, permit expenses, materials, subcontractor charges, mobilization costs, and other expenses associated with the project. Changes requested by the customer after demolition has begun may result in additional charges.

7. MATERIAL DELIVERY

Customers are responsible for confirming the type and quantity of materials ordered before delivery. Once specially ordered materials have been purchased, loaded, transported, or delivered, refunds may be limited or unavailable depending upon whether the materials can reasonably be returned and whether North Forty Services can recover the associated costs. Delivery charges, transportation costs, supplier charges, restocking fees, and similar expenses already incurred are generally nonrefundable. If North Forty Services delivers the wrong material or quantity because of an error by North Forty Services, we will work with the customer to correct the issue at no additional delivery charge.

8. CUSTOMER CHANGES TO THE PROJECT

Customers may request changes to scheduled or ongoing work. North Forty Services will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes, but changes to the scope of work may affect pricing, completion time, equipment requirements, disposal charges, labor requirements, or other project costs. A request to reduce or change the scope of a project does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund for expenses North Forty Services has already incurred.

9. WEATHER AND CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL

Certain services may be delayed or rescheduled because of severe weather, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, road conditions, disposal facility closures, supplier delays, governmental restrictions, emergencies, or other circumstances outside the reasonable control of North Forty Services. When North Forty Services must reschedule a project for these reasons, payments or deposits will ordinarily be applied to the rescheduled service rather than treated as a customer cancellation. If North Forty Services is ultimately unable to provide the agreed service, any payment for services that were not performed will be refunded, less any nonrefundable third-party or project-specific costs previously disclosed to the customer, when applicable.

10. SERVICE CONCERNS

If a customer believes there is a problem with work performed by North Forty Services, the customer should contact us promptly and provide reasonable details about the concern. We will review legitimate service concerns and determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances. Depending upon the situation, a resolution may include correcting or completing work, providing an appropriate adjustment, or issuing a partial or full refund. Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that a customer may have under applicable law.

11. REFUND REQUESTS

Refund requests should include the customer's name, contact information, service location, date of service, and a brief explanation of the reason for the request. Approved refunds will be returned using a reasonable payment method. Processing time may vary depending upon the original payment method and financial institution.

12. PROJECT-SPECIFIC AGREEMENTS

Certain projects may have cancellation, deposit, payment, or refund terms contained in an estimate, proposal, work order, invoice, or other written agreement. When project-specific terms have been agreed upon, those terms will control if they differ from this general Cancellation & Refund Policy.

13. POLICY CHANGES

North Forty Services may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time. Any updated policy will be posted on the North Forty Services website with a revised “Last Updated” date. Changes will not retroactively alter specific cancellation or refund terms already agreed upon for an existing project unless permitted by law and agreed to by the parties.
